HumanAuthn is a next-generation biometric authentication technology that allows for the regeneration of ephemeral keys linked to the user's identity. It uses real-time facial recognition and liveness detection to verify individuals quickly, accurately, and with high security. The entire process is performed without storing sensitive biometric data, offering a simple login experience for the user and an advanced layer of security for organizations.
In addition to be an authentication technology, HumanAuthn is an encryption primitive powered by elliptic curve cryptography, which encrypts the private keys and stores it in a QR code we call ZELF ID. This ZELF ID is store on the blockchain and can only be decrypted by the user, the data subject.
HumanAuthn was designed with privacy as a core principle. The technology does not store biometric templates and performs facial recognition in real time through local or on-premises processing. This significantly reduces the risks associated with centralized biometric databases, such as data breaches, replay attacks, or mass identity compromises. By not storing biometric data, HumanAuthn also facilitates compliance with standards and regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and ISO 30107.
Yes, HumanAuthn works offline. The user can encrypt and decrypt as many ZELF IDS as he wishes, on the local device, completely offline. This prevents data leakage or MITM attacks.
